Dr Adrian Siew Ming Saurajen is the Clinical Director of this centre. He is a fully accredited Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon and is supported by a full complement of trained nursing and paramedical staff.

Dr Adrian is a graduate of the University of Sydney and had worked in Australia where he completed the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Pt I) qualification before furthering his training in Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Dr Adrian has training in both sleep medicine and sleep surgery. He completed a fellowship in Sleep Medicine and Surgery at the Medical College Wisconsin USA under the tutelage of Prof B Tucker Woodson. After this he completed a Masters of Medicine programme in Sleep Medicine with the University of Sydney under Prof Colin Sullivan.

Dr Adrian is also registered with the medical boards in (NSW) Australia and Hong Kong.

Apart from general ENT, Dr Adrian has special interests in

– Pediatric ENT including recurrent infections, hearing loss, speech delay, cough, mouth breathing with dentofacial
changes
– Nasal, Allergy and Sinus conditions
– Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnoea
– Balloon sinuplasty for Sinus conditions
– Chronic sore throat, cough, Tonsil/adenoid issues
– Hearing loss, blocked ears(eustachian tube dysfunction)
– Allergy Assessment, testing and treatment

Dr Saurajen performs surgery for both children and adults. Apart from performing general Ear/Nasal/Sinus/Snoring/Throat/Head and Neck procedures, he has a special focus on minimally invasive surgeries. These also include balloon sinuplasty for sinus conditions. (Balloon sinuplasty is a procedure where a balloon is cannulated into the sinus openings and then insufflated to open up the sinus openings).

Over the years, Dr Saurajen has been involved in several academic societies, forums and associations having held office in a few of them. Some of these societies he was/is affiliated with include the following:

Singapore – These include the Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Singapore(SOHNSS)(previously office holder), Singapore Sleep Society(previously office holder) and the Singapore Medical Association.

He was also a Board Member within the College of Surgeons(Academy of Medicine) Chapter of Otorhinolaryngologists. He was also the Medical Board Representative for ENT at Mount Elizabeth Hospital previously.

United States- These include societies such as the American Academy Of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery, American Rhinologic Society and American Academy of Sleep Medicine in the United States.

Australia – The Australasian Sleep Association

Dr Saurajen has lectured both in Singapore and overseas. These include being a Plenary speaker for the ASEAN ORL Meeting previously. He has also been involved with the Sinus Forum Series in Asia and the US. This is a meeting which stemmed from minimally invasive treatment of sinuses with the use of Balloon Sinuplasty.

Dr Saurajen is married with 3 children. His first son passed away from liver failure. In memory of his son, the Zachary Liver Fund was launched at NUH in 1999.
