Special Interest: General, Vascular & Endovascular Surgery

Dr Cheng Shin Chuen read Medicine in the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia and graduated in 1998. He was awarded his Masters Degree in Medicine from National University Singapore in 2003 and obtained his specialty Fellowship in General Surgery in 2006 from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.

While serving in the public sector he was Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Department of General Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and was active as a teacher in undergraduate and postgraduate training.

He was awarded the inaugural NTU-NHG Seed Innovation grant for Vascular Imaging Research in November 2011 and was Associate Programme Director for General Surgery Training in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Dr Cheng continues teaching at NUS and restructured hospitals as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and mentors surgeons and cardiologists in the region in complex vascular operations, being a Visitng Endovascular Surgeon to Tam Duc Cardiovascular Hospital Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

His specialty interests are in managing diseases of the blood vessels via minimally invasive means.Treatment includes ‘Ballooning’ procedures for blocked leg arteries, Laser/Radiofrequency treatment for Varicose Veins and Spider Veins and Stenting procedures for diseased large arteries.
