Dr Gavin Ong is a dermatologist by training. He completed his dermatology training at the National Skin Centre, Singapore, which is the largest and busiest dermatology centre in Singapore. During his training stint, he also rotated through dermatology departments in major hospitals such as Singapore General Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Following the completion of his dermatology training, he spent his HMDP Fellowship at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital which is located in an up-market area of central London, United Kingdom. Chelsea & Westminster Hospital has consistently been rated as one of the top hospitals within London, as well as within the United Kingdom. There, he received further training on dermatology especially focusing on skin infections and cancers.
In addition to being a Consultant at the National Skin Centre, he was also a Visiting Consultant at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital prior to joining Singapore Medical Group. He was also the ex-Deputy Head of the Department of STI Control.
Through his years of training as a specialist in the areas of skin, hair and nail, Dr Gavin Ong understands in far greater depth and detail, the function and biology of the skin and its response to different types of treatment. In aesthetic practice, such understanding is critical. Dr Gavin Ong is able to assess and analyse an individual’s skin problem and formulate a skin treatment and care regime that is specially customised for each individual.
He has a wide range of treatment options at his disposal to fulfil the needs of the individual patient. These include various types of laser machines and customised skin care products for treating common skin conditions like scarring and pigmentation, to lifting and toning machines for facial shaping, to injectables for wrinkles and non-surgical face-lift, to sweating, and fillers for facial enhancement. Dr Gavin Ong is able to combine various types of treatment to achieve better results safely and effectively.
Dr Gavin Ong spent some time in Seoul, South Korea where he gained further experience at renowned institutions like Navi Plastic Surgery Clinic and LEADERS Dermatology Clinic.
