Dr Joanna (Jo) is originally off a farm in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The country life allowed her to pursue her passion with horses where she went on to represent New Zealand many times in the sport of Eventing. She flew with her horses to compete abroad enjoying numerous successes in both Australia and the U.K. While perfecting her equestrian skills she suffered many falls and as a teenager she was introduced to the wonderful benefits of chiropractic.
In later life Dr Jo confesses she became quite the study geek! She attained a B.Sc majoring in Psychology from the University of Auckland, a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the New Zealand College of Chiropractic and latterly a Post Graduate certificate in Sports Medicine, also from the University of Auckland. Apparently she is not finished with studying yet!
For the past 5 years, Dr Jo has been working in a busy family oriented practice in Jakarta, Indonesia and this was where her love affair with Asia began. “My time in Indonesia saw me treating tens-of-thousands of patients of all ages, from new-borns through to the very elderly. It’s an extremely rewarding experience to be able to help another human-being improve their quality of life. I’m very excited to be part of the talented team at Advanced Pain Centres and I look forward to sharing my expertise with the people of Singapore”.
雅各医生出生于美国北达科他州法戈。他年轻时因为患上慢性腰痛而寻求脊椎治疗。渐渐地,他爱上了这非侵入性的愈合方法。随着他的兴趣，他决定通过脊椎治疗的技能帮助别人。美国中西部地区的文化也灌输了雅各医生努力工作的价值。
他在美国明尼苏达州西北卫生科学的脊椎学拥有博士学位，获得了人类生物学学位与美国北达科他州脊椎治疗师的执照。他已经完成了Activator技术，Sacral Occipital技术，Webster技术，运动物理学的额外培训，并拥有许多其他认证。雅各医生也曾在美国，斯里兰卡和新加坡实习接触过广泛的病人群。
雅各医生喜欢回馈大众，并自愿地在美国为无家可归者和支援不足社区的组织提供矫正服务。他很兴奋能够在新加坡延续这样的工作。在空闲时间里，他喜欢美式足球，冰球，烹饪，下坡滑雪和到东南亚旅游。雅各医生已经喜欢上新加坡的文化，他很开心新加坡已成为他的第二个家！
