Dr Ng graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1998. He received his training in Internal Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, National University Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital. He attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom in 2003. He subsequently underwent Advanced Specialist Training in Renal Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and obtained Specialist accreditation in Renal Medicine from the Ministry of Health & Singapore Medical Council in 2007.

He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Fellowship where he spent a year at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Australia focusing on recent advances in Haemodialysis care including home haemodialysis and nocturnal haemodialysis. He was conferred Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 2009 and Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2010.

Prior to starting his private practice at Gleneagles Medical Centre, Dr Ng was a consultant in the Department of Renal Medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 2008 to 2012. He was Director of the Chronic Haemodialysis Programme at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and served as Medical Directors of Nephrocare Singapore Dialysis Centre and B Braun Avitum Dialysis Centre. He is a Visiting Consultant at National Kidney Foundation and Kidney Dialysis Foundation, Singapore.

Dr Ng is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing education. He was a Clinical Teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore and was Core Clinical Faculty and a member of the Internal Medicine Education Committee and Subspecialty Coordinator for Renal Medicine for the National Healthcare Group Internal Medicine Residency Programme. He is also a visiting lecturer for the Advanced Diploma in Nursing Course at the School of Health Sciences, Nanyang Polytechnic. He is frequently invited to deliver lectures at local and regional scientific meetings as well as public forums in both English and Mandarin. During his tenure at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Dr Ng also had a keen interest in research and was the principal investigator for the hospital in many international multi-centre randomised controlled trials involving patients with kidney diseases.

He is active in the promotion of Nephrology in Singapore and has been in the Executive Committee of the Singapore Society of Nephrology since 2008. He served as Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Society of Nephrology for three terms from 2009 to 2012. He was awarded the Courage Star Award for overcoming SARS from the National Healthcare Group in 2003 as well as the Excellent Service Award (Silver) in 2005 by Spring Singapore.

Dr Ng started his Nephrology practice at Gleneagles Medical Centre in 2012, specialising in the evaluation and treatment of various kidney disorders.
