Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple – NKF Dialysis Centre (Simei Branch)

Sponsored by the famous Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, this sprawling centre has a floor area of 650 square metres compared to the average size of between 400 and 500 square metres for other NKF dialysis centres. Besides sponsoring its construction cost of $2.2 million, the temple has also committed to bear the annual recurrent cost of $1 million to run the centre. Designed with traditional Chinese architecture and decor, its unique interior provides a relaxing ambience that gives patients the feeling of a “home away from home”. The opening of this centre also saw the initiation of the first tuition programme by the NKF conducted at the centre, benefiting 20 children of patients receiving treatment there.
