LS Medical & Aesthetic Centre started in 1991 at Ngee Ann City and changed its name to LS Aesthetic Clinic Pte Ltd in 2008 to reflect the focus of practice in aesthetic medicine. Since December 2010, we have been practicing at Wisma Atria, which is also in the heart of Orchard Road. The doctor in charge is Dr Allan Kok, who graduated in 1984 with MBBS from the National University of Singapore. His interest in dermatology led him to be the first Singaporean doctor to pursue the course in practical dermatology from Cardiff, University of Wales in 1993-94 under Prof Ronald Marks. He obtained the diploma with merit.
As he wants to improve his aesthetic skills, he attended various courses and conferences in many countries. Among the mentors he visited/met are Prof Gary Lask (Laser Centre in UCLA, Los Angeles, USA), Dr Mitchel Delune (President of American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, AAAM), Dr Le Coz (Paris, France, tutorship under Dr Pistor, for mesotherapy), Dr Pierre (Paris, France for fat transfer) and Prof Rox Anderson (Harvard University for laser updates). He organised the first certificate course in Aesthetic Medicine (2003) in Singapore together with AAAM which 33 doctors attended. With the success of the certificate course, he continued to organise the subsequent diploma in Aesthetic Medicine with AAAM.
The various conferences and CMEs he attended included annual meetings of AAD, ASLMS and focused meetings in bariatric medicine in San Diego (USA), Laser Update (Laser and Aesthetic Skin Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital organised by Harvard Medical School), conference in dermatology in Hong Kong (Society of Dermatology), annual meetings of IMCAS, various meetings in updates and advanced training in Botox, fillers, as well as other aesthetic procedures.
Dr Kok is a fellow of both the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society of Laser Medicine Society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.He believes in procedures (both minimally and non-invasive) that are effective in containing signs of aging, and employs various methods to reverse and prevent the effects of aging.
