Gifford’s previous working experience included working in Singapore’s tertiary psychiatric hospital, the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). Based in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (DCAP), Gifford was a pioneer member of the award-winning, multi-disciplinary Response, Early intervention and Assessment in Community mental Health (REACH) team, which specialised in providing psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions in schools and in students’ homes.
Embracing this multi-faceted approach, Gifford worked closely with IMH and other general hospitals, Voluntary Welfare Organisations (VWOs), Family Service Centres (FSCs), Special Schools, and Educational Psychologists and School Counsellors from the Ministry of Education (MOE) to develop and provide holistic treatments for each child
