Born and raised in Sydney, Leeran Gold was the first Australian candidate to be invited as the International Visiting Researcher to the Home Team Academy Behavioural Sciences Centre in Singapore. She completed her Bachelor of Arts – Psychology degree at Macquarie University and her Post Graduate Diploma of Psychology and Master of Psychology (Forensic) at Bond University at the age of 23. Leeran gained formative experience teaching undergraduate and graduate psychology courses while at Bond University.
Leeran has had experience working across the lifespan with children, adolescents, families, and adults. Most recently, she was the Head of Early Intervention Program and led a team of specialised teachers in providing early intervention for children aged 1.5 to 11 years in Singapore.
Leeran has also worked with multidisciplinary teams providing psychological assessment and intervention for adolescents, families, and adults referred through the criminal justice system both at Mermaid Beach Youth Justice Service Centre and Tweed Valley Drug and Alcohol Centre.
Leeran’s client-centered therapeutic approach draws upon humanistic and narrative frameworks. She is qualified and experienced in delivering Gottman Level 1 Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Addictions Counselling, Mindfulness Based Interventions, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Crisis Management. She delivers both individual and group therapy.
Leeran also provides comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults including intelligence, achievement, and personality testing, as well as forensic assessments, including violence risk assessments and suicide risk assessments.
Leeran has always been passionate about music, and performed at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, New York when she was 14. She also enjoys martial arts and adventure travel, having trekked to Mt Everest Base Camp in 2010.
