After 18 months of construction, our new nursing home in the heartland commenced operations in January 2015. Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52, the official registered name of this 257-beded, 7-storey building received its first batch of residents on 5 January 2015, followed by the opening of the Senior Care Centre (SCC) in February.
Located near Little Guilin, Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52 will have dementia care services, rehabilitation and day care services, besides our nursing home services. Amenities in and around the nursing home include a living/dining room area where residents can enjoy activities in the day, and a roof garden that families and visitors can use during their visits.
There will also be opportunities for our nursing home residents to interact with the local community. Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52 is likely the first in Singapore to share its facilities with residents in neighbouring estates. It houses a multi-purpose hall and a community gymnasium which the public* can use after working hours.
Ren Ci @ Bukit Batok St. 52 promises to offer a new frontier in elderly care through providing person-centred environment for the residents. To offer the Ren Ci residents increased contact with the community would make them feel less isolated from the world outside the home and likely to aid in their recovery.
